This is flash fiction, just 650 words! The brief was ‘romance’.
This short piece is a true story that actually happened in real life, but it is now non-gendered and set in space. (As you do.) But the passion is real!
Writing WA wanted stories that flirted with the traditional romance genre, pushed boundaries and offered a fresh take on relationships. They wanted tender and passionate frissons between traditional and non-traditional partners, that celebrated love in all its forms as a complex human emotion.
Nailed it!
It was first published in ‘the little journal: romance’, published by Writing WA in collaboration with Night Parrot Press, proudly supported by Edith Cowan University and Raine Square.
